Hi there, I’m Charlotte.

I’m a location-independent virtual assistant supporting ocean conservationists, filmmakers, ethical businesses and creative teams.

My background spans marketing, music licensing, communications and the practical work that keeps projects moving. From managing websites and newsletters to research, outreach and the general behind-the-scenes, I handle the work that takes time away from yours.

The ocean has become a central part of both my life and my work, which means that if it’s your world too, you probably won’t have to spend much time explaining it to me.

I work remotely across multiple time zones, in English and German.

Originally from Hamburg, Germany, I spent almost a decade in London, initially working in marketing and later in the music industry. I worked across both the creative and licensing sides of placing music in advertising, film and television, including leading a licensing department, overseeing sync licensing for the UK music rights organisation MCPS and managing sync and licensing for a record label.

In 2018, I left the UK to travel and eventually built Make Waves. Since then, I’ve supported ocean filmmakers, expedition leaders and other purpose-led projects with everything from websites and communications to partner research, outreach and behind-the-scenes coordination.

How can I help you?

Every client is different. Here’s some of what I do:

Websites: Updates, redesigns and ongoing management

Newsletters: Design, writing, management and platform migration

Communications: Writing, editing and scheduling blog posts, podcast distribution via Libsyn, content scheduling and posting, email communication, community engagement

Research and outreach: Identifying contacts, researching opportunities, reaching out on your behalf and putting together pitch decks and presentations

Course creation: Building and managing online courses in Ablefy

Graphic design: Social media graphics, presentations and other visual content in Canva

General admin: Data entry, contract coordination, expense tracking, proofreading, file management, the unglamorous stuff
